POOL CONSTRUCTION AND DESIGN

There’s nothing quite as refreshing as an afternoon by the pool to offset the summer heat. Pool activities are an easy and convenient way to extract excitement from an otherwise eventless day. In addition to being a fun activity for the whole family, swimming is a fantastic strategy for engaging in low-impact exercise and building up cardio.

Unfortunately, public pools can be a crowded, noisy, and frustrating experience. For many homeowners, a backyard pool is the ultimate expression of luxury. It is also one of the most sought-after property upgrades. California residents use their pools year-round, and in some areas, lacking a pool can make a home more difficult to sell.

Types of Pools and Materials

There are many types of pools to choose from, depending on how you plan to use it. Family pools are great for throwing parties and large gatherings, while lap pools promote easy fitness. Recreational pools are versatile and ideal for general use, often including shallow waters on one end and accommodating deep diving depths on the other. Though many people prefer accessible pools with kitchen entry, secluded pools can provide a more intimate setting.

Pool materials are equally diverse. Vinyl tends to be the cheapest pool material and is particularly customizable. Fiberglass pools are pre-molded and come with various built-in features. While easier to install, their prefabricated nature allows for minimal customization. Concrete or gunite pools are the most durable and customizable; however, they are also the most expensive.
